We take great pride in working together to build great homes. We’re even more proud of the donation we were able to make to the Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach thanks to our 2011 October Awareness drive.
Compassionate Hands and Hearts is an organization that offers support to help improve the quality of life of those battling breast cancer and their families.
We made our way to the Channel 9 studios Thursday morning to present Vanessa Echols and her foundation a giant check! We got a chance to talk with Vanessa about her organization and find out where our donation was going.
“All of our money stays local, so it goes directly to help the patient. We have one this weekend; we’re going to do an outreach for her on Saturday afternoon.” Vanessa said. So, armed with check in hand, the Compassionate Hands and Hearts organization is going to make a difference in a Central Florida family’s life this weekend.
“They’re having some problems with paying the rent as well as the utilities. So, with this, we’ll be able to help them get ahead. We want to pay three months rent, so we’ll be able to take care of that… We’re also going to give her a $500 Visa gift card, so she can shop for groceries and things like that.” Vanessa said.
Suresh Gupta, our CEO, was pleased to hear where our contributions are going. “We’re happy to hear the big difference Vanessa and her organization are making, and we’re honored to help support those efforts.” Suresh said.
So, how did Park Square Homes raise the money? We pledged $500 for each home sold in October 2011 and our new home owners helped us hit a record number of $8,000 dollars! It’s always a great feeling to see a project through completion. And we did just that this week.
“She’ll be thrilled!” Vanessa exclaimed.
We’re thrilled too.
