Even with all of Winter Gardens' growth in recent years, it still maintains its small-town atmosphere centered on community. Each Saturday, residents and visitors come together off the famous Plant Street to enjoy the Winter Garden Farmers Market . This popular weekly event hosts over a hundred local vendors offering goods such as fresh produce, artisan crafts, and baked treats. The market is beloved by everyone and is the perfect place to take your furry friends for an afternoon stroll.

The downtown area on Plant Street is lined with a variety of restaurants and small businesses to explore. Live music and performances are the heart and soul of Winter Garden as bands can often be found playing at Crooked Can Brewing Company, along with residents enjoying a play, comedy, or musical performance at the Garden Theatre. Kids are invited to participate in the children’s art exhibitions at the Winter Garden Art Association, or march in the annual All American Kids Parade. With so much to offer, there is something for everyone.

Outdoor Activities 

Winter Garden is also known its thriving community atmosphere and vibrant outdoor activities as well. The city is settled right by Lake Apopka, the fourth-largest lake in Florida. The lake attracts a variety of outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy boating and fishing year-round. Annual bass fishing tournaments are also hosted on the lake. On the shore, hikers can take the Lake Apopka Loop Trail which spans over thirty miles of northern shoreline, perfect for spotting herons, turtles, and other iconic Florida wildlife.

Another popular spot for getting outdoors is the West Orange Trail . The trail runs twenty-two miles with plans to further expand the biking trail to a total of thirty-six miles. The bike trail hosts cyclists, joggers, and skaters as it winds throughout the community in Winter Garden. Many residents also use the trail to bike to Plant Street.
