Clean leaves and waste out of gutters and drainpipes to prevent water from backing up. Make sure that all downspouts carry water at least 5 feet away from the foundation of the house.
Trim any tree branches that are hanging over the house that could cause damage during a storm. They may also be dropping leaves into the gutters or causing mold and mildew problems on or around the house.
Check all exterior stucco or siding for cracks. Caulk and repaint any spots needed.
Change or clean filters and vents in heating, air conditioning systems, and fans.
Remove dryer lint from the dryer vent before every load and wash the vent screen at least once a month.
Check for leaky faucets and leaks on the roof, chimney, or around skylights.
Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace their batteries as needed or at least twice a year. Make sure you have easily accessible fire extinguishers that are in good working order.
Check for cracks in caulking around sinks, tubs, toilets, faucets, countertops, backsplashes,
ceramic wall tile, floor tiles, windowsills and any other areas that may have caulk or
silicone. Re-caulk using the appropriate caulk material recommended.
Inspect water hoses for cracks for the washing machine, dishwasher, and refrigerator ice maker.

During the warranty period, all warranty work must be performed by the original contractor. Park Square Homes' warranty does not provide reimbursement for work done by a third-party vendor and will void the warranty on that particular part of the repair.
